COVID-19 HEALTH + SAFETY

September 1, 2021

As of September 22, 2021, the Ontario government has implemented a new mandate that require guests to be fully vaccinated for indoor dining and to show proof of double vaccination. These mandatory requirements would not apply to outdoor settings where the risk of transmission is lower, such as our patios.

We cannot wait to welcome you into our spaces.

March 15, 2020

Immediately following the declaration of COVID‑19 as a pandemic in mid-March, and in accordance with government protocol, Ascari temporarily closed its doors to our guests. Since then, we have carefully and cautiously resumed several initiatives including our retail shops, grocery boxes, and catering for food-scarce communities and hospital frontline workers. Currently in phase three of Ontario's recovery plan, we have reopened for patio service at both locations, and the bottle shops remain in operation inside both restaurants as well.

In order to protect the health and safety of all our valued team members and guests, Ascari has streamlined our service standards, hours of operation, and safety protocols in order to exceed all government mandated health and safety requirements. We share this statement, and will continue to update these pages as operations continue. We are so grateful to our communities for their continued support over the past few months. Let's ensure that everyone remains safe, keeps their distance, and enjoys their visit!

OUR PLEDGE

Safe from the Source
We've developed specific health and safety standards for our suppliers that mirror our own practices. Every supplier certifies that they've met these standards.

Team Member Wellness Checks
We check team members' temperatures at the start of each shift. Team members must also complete a wellness checklist before starting work for the day.

Required Safety Equipment
We require our team members to wear the face masks and gloves we provide. To keep all of us safe, any guest entering our space must also wear a face covering (eg. when using the restroom).

Frequent Hand-Washing
We follow the strict and thorough hand-washing guidelines issued by Public Health Canada and Ontario Public Health.

Strict Sanitization Standards
We disinfect all high-touchpoint surfaces at least once every hour with EPA-registered disinfectant. Hand sanitizing stations are available in our kitchens, bottle shops, and restrooms.

Social Distancing Measures
Maintaining physical distancing and installing physical barriers can help prevent spreading illnesses through respiratory droplets in the air. At this time we are serving on our patios only—at 50% capacity—in order to maintain proper six-foot social distancing measures. Social distancing will also extend to all internal practices including staff arrivals, family meal, workstations, and pathway flow traffic within the restaurants.

Added Food Safety Protocols
Our cooking stations are streamlined to create designated menu items, thus enhancing social distance amongst the culinary team. Employees must use designated water containers or a single-use cup to stay hydrated, and staff meals will not be served family style.

Contactless Pickup and Delivery
We encourage all pickup orders (bottle shop and catering) to be placed ahead of time in order to have minimal contact and avoid crowding.

WHAT WE ASK OF OUR GUESTS

Reservations are Strongly Encouraged
The maximum group size for patio service is six. In the event of inclement weather, we may not be able to honour reservations.

Please Wait to be Seated
We will only seat groups that have fully arrived.

Personal Wellness
If any guest is experiencing any COVID‑19 symptoms such as cough, fever, aches, chills, or any general flu-like symptoms, we ask that they please stay home and join us next time.

Masks are Mandatory
Masks must be worn when entering the restaurants. This includes when entering the bottle shops, and the usage of the restrooms.

No Moving of Chairs or Tables
Please maintain the layout; it has been carefully considered to respect social distancing measures.

Contact Information
We require the contact information for all parties upon arrival.

Tap Payment is Preferred
We are not accepting cash as a form of payment at this time.

Be Safe, Keep Your Distance, and Have Fun!
