Starting at Gare de L’Est with the opening team, Amber has been an integral part of the GDL team since day one. Utilizing her extensive background in large scale events and caterings with MLSE, Amber has been a rock at GDL and the space absolutely couldn’t operate without her. Her invaluable problem solving attitude, ability to show care and respect for all team members, plus her extensive food and wine knowledge, are intrinsic to GDL’s success.

Whether it’s orienting new staff members to the space, welcoming guests with open arms or simply taking care of ordering, Amber really is an invaluable part of the team, and we are so grateful for her presence today as we were on opening day.

Amber was nominated by her peers and we’d like to share some of their words:

I would like to nominate Amber for employee of the month. I choose Amber since she’s been here the longest and has contributed a lot. She’s very gentle and has a very reassuring nature to her that makes her easy to talk to when you need help with something. She also shows her concern towards others which I find quite nice.

As a congratulatory prize, we’ve given Amber a……

Honorable Mentions

Joydip Dey

A newer team member to join the Ascari King street team, Joy has made a fast impact in the team, with his consistently positive energy, can do attitude and quick learning of many aspects of the King Street space.

Some kind words from Joy’s fellow coworkers:

He is an absolute pleasure to work with. He shows up day in and day out with a smile on his face and does an impeccable job every shift. He is quick to learn, consistent in his execution, and has a constant desire to learn. I know that when I am working with Joy I am in good hands and service is always better off because he is on the team. We are all very lucky to call him our coworker.

For Joydip, I nominated him as he is an exemplary employee. He always comes to work with a positive and go-getter mentality. Even if he is dealing with personal matters or exams, he still comes to do the best job that he can on a daily basis. Always looking to hit every standard, he never needs to be told twice or reminded. He learned the food menu with ease and ensures that he knows any updated or new dish thoroughly. It’s a pleasure to work alongside him and I have complete trust in him as a member of the team to always do the best that he can. I am constantly impressed by him and am always hearing great feedback from the rest of the team. In short, Joy is a joy ;)

Blair Bouchard

Joining the Ascari Enoteca team in summer 2018, Blair immediately became an  indispensable part of the Ascari Enoteca family. Managing this busy space requires wearing many different hats, and Blair has absolutely worn those hats. The nomination below speaks volumes about the impact he has had to the Queen Street team.

I’d like to nominate Blair for the month of December.
December is a crazy month for everyone in the company, but I think Blair has a real jack of all trades approach that makes him an amazing manager. Outside of running Ascari on the daily he helps every facet of the business, leaky sink, (no problem) a pasta order that needs picking up across town (he's got it) wine education for the staff on the new fall wine additions (he does it all) Blair has so many great leadership qualities while being happy to serve a section on a busy night shorthanded rolling with the punches at the same time. He's excellent at welcoming new members onto the team making them feel apart of the family while giving them the tools to succeed in their roll.
Anyways Blair's great and that's thatLet me know any feedback/thoughts.
